Coronavirus: Shropshire pharmacies to offer rapid testing for essential workers
Essential workers without Covid-19 symptoms can now book a rapid test at a number of pharmacies in Shropshire – allowing greater access to testing in some of our more rural areas of the county.
These tests are available for people who cannot work from home, who live or work in Shropshire and who do not have any symptoms of Covid-19. Tests can be booked online using https://www.1centralhealth.co.uk/shropshirelft
Residents who have their COVID-19 vaccination booked at Severn Fields Medical Practice will now be able to access a free shuttle bus service.
Last week saw the launch of the free shuttle service to the new Shrewsbury Vaccination Centre at Shrewsbury Sports Village (Bowls Centre) on Sundorne Road.
The service will also take passengers attending the adjacent Severn Fields Medical Practice, and passengers can walk the short distance from the bus stop on the Shrewsbury Sport Village site to Severn Fields Medical Practice.
From Thursday 4 February 2021, a free shuttle service will start operating to the new NHS Vaccination Centre at Shrewsbury Indoor Bowls Centre, next to Shrewsbury Sports Village, on Sundorne Road in Shrewsbury.
The service will be operated by Arriva in partnership with Shropshire Council.
Services VS1 and VS2 will run every 20 minutes throughout the day, with Shuttle VS1 running from 0735 until 2015, and Shuttle VS2 running from 0745 until 1945.
We are keen to share with the community updated information regarding local Covid Testing. Shropshire is at critical point in the battle against COVID-19. On Monday 19th October, Public Health England put Shropshire’s case rate at 90.4 per 100,000.
