Parrs Pool Regeneration - 6" chipper
1st December 2016

Many residents have spotted that work has now begun to thin the woodland around Parr's Pool to improve the views from the footpaths.

The majestic oak trees at the end of the pool can now be seen properly and anybody sitting on the benches will be able to enjoy watching the ducks on the pond.  The cold snap has slightly delayed the removal of the green duck weed but once the ice thaws the duck weed will be skimmed off the surface of the water and the additional light will help to slow down the spread of the plants.

When the weather warms up in the spring the Council will invest in some aquatic planting that will enhance the look of the pool and also compete with the duck weed, helping to keep it under control.  Once the Pool is looking its best the Parish Council will introduce an ongoing maintenance programme to try to keep it that way.
