We have recieved the following information
This is an email to inform you that National Grid Distribution are due to start an essential electricity network improvement project in your area.
This is a large project that involves installing new underground cables along the footways in order to replace the defective overhead cable network that is presently in place, and in large parts, serving the properties through the rear gardens etc.
The area that we will be concentrating on is the properties circled by, Lansdowne Road, Berwyn Road, Overdale Road, Langford Avenue, Westbourne Rise and along Gorse Lane.
We are due to start on 1st July 2024. The project will run in two phases, firstly we will install all the new underground cables and upgrade two of our transformer substation sites (Lansdowne Rd & Poolside), due to be completed by end August.
Secondly we will be providing each property with a new electricity service from the footways to then enable us to remove the existing overhead cable system. This stage should be completed by mid-November.
Obviously our works will involve an amount of traffic management to keep the public and our staff safe whilst work progresses. This will be managed closely and, where possible, for traffic sensitive areas, we will endeavour to complete works within school holidays when there is slightly less congestion.
All residents directly affected by our work will be contacted prior to the start date and informed of our intentions.
National Grid appreciate that work of this nature may inconvenience the residents in some way, but as a result of regulations the work must be undertaken to ensure that our system of supply remains reliable and safe.
