Join viral sensation, Jackie Weaver, and a group of community heroes to discuss getting involved with your local (parish and town) council. Are you passionate about your community? Do you want to help make a long-lasting change? Do you have concerns about a specific issue and want to do something about it? This event will tell you what you need to know about local councils, and what they do, the role of a councillor and how to become one.

The census is coming... and it's onlineThe census is a national survey that happens every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. The next one will take place on Sunday 21 March 2021 known as Census Day. Soon you will receive a letter that will tell you everything you need to know about how to complete #Census2021 Why is census data collected?By taking part, you’ll be helping make sure Telford and Wrekin get the services needed now and in the future. All kinds of organisations, from local authorities to charities, use the information to help provide the services we all need, including transport, education and healthcare. Without the census, it would be much more difficult to do this. The first ever online censusCensus 2021 will be online so you can fill it in at any time and on any device. Paper versions will be available for those who need it. You must complete the census by lawYou must complete the census by law. If you do not, or if you supply false information, you could be fined up to £1,000. Some questions will be clearly labelled as optional: it is not an offence if you do not answer these.
