Shropshire Council’s planning policy team has launched the ‘Preferred Sites’ consultation until Friday 8 February 2019, and during this time there will be a number of public meetings open to all, throughout the county, where local proposals will be explained and there will be the opportunity to discuss in depth how they impact locally.  Please come along and have your say on how your community is shaped for the future.

There will be three meetings taking place in the Shrewsbury area, to allow local people to hear more about proposals for their area. These meetings will all be held at Guildhall in Shrewsbury at 7pm on the relevant dates (below).

Wednesday 16 January – Shrewsbury town plan polices.

Thursday 17 January – Shrewsbury rural north polices, including the settlements of Nesscliffe, Baschurch, Bomere Heath, Bicton and Ford.

Thursday 24 January – Shrewsbury rural south policies, including the settlements of Hanwood, Bayston Hill, Longden, Cross Houses and Dorrington.

The Preferred Sites consultation document outlines a housing policy direction to improve the delivery of local housing needs and establishes development guidelines and development boundaries for a number of communities in the Shrewsbury area The plan sets out the preferred sites to deliver the scale and distribution of housing and employment growth during the period 2016 to 2036.
