Age Uk - Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

Help at Home

Help @ Home is a service offered throughout Shropshire,  Telford & Wrekin by Age UK STW, to anyone over 50. People often need help and assistance to remain independent and ensure a good quality of life.

We offer help with shopping, walking the dog or light domestic duties around your home, including laundry, ironing and gardening.

After an initial visit from one of our co-ordinators to discuss the help you require, and the cost, we offer a trained support worker who will start visits on a regular basis.

To discuss your needs with a member of our staff call

Shropshire Car Club - Pay as you go Cars

I am very pleased to say that a new social enterprise, Shropshire Car Club Community Interest Company, has been set up and will be responsible for the 'pay as you go' car project, with support from Shropshire Council.

Based on responses to a survey carried out last year, we estimated that five cars will be needed initially to meet the demand in Shrewsbury. Fuel-efficient Fords will be delivered soon.

The online booking and billing systems for members will be provided by Co-wheels, a social enterprise with wide experience of managing car clubs.

For the latest information please have a look at

where you can sign up to receive regular email updates and you will also find a link to the Co-wheels website.

Please watch out for publicity during February about the launch of the car clubs and how to join.
